2026-09-28. DC Hub has published a two-page brief that compares its platform with datacenterHawk, DatacenterDynamics (DCD), Data Center Frontier (DCF), Baxtel, and DC Byte. It is written for customers, analysts, and investors and cites 18 public sources.
The brief follows S&P Global's acquisition of datacenterHawk. The deal was announced July 28, 2026 and completed September 1, and its terms were not disclosed. It places datacenterHawk and its FiberLocator platform inside S&P Global Energy, alongside 451 Research. The seller reported that datacenterHawk's annual recurring revenue grew more than 6x since 2022.
DCD and DCF are publishers. datacenterHawk, DC Byte, and Baxtel are data or directory businesses. DC Hub is a data business that also exposes an MCP server and a daily index. The brief notes that facility counts are not like-for-like, because the providers count different things: discovery corpora, analyst-verified stock, or regularly reviewed projects.
The brief also records a correction: DC Hub withdrew its gas index (DCGI) on August 8 after an audit found defects and restored it on August 30 with a public correction. Gas-fired $/MWh figures remain withdrawn.
The brief credits datacenterHawk's analyst-verified supply and pricing data, DCD's global media and events franchise, DCF's long-form editorial, Baxtel's free directory, and DC Byte's international field coverage.
Disclosure: DC Hub prepared the brief, and the DC Hub figures in it are self-reported. Competitor details come from public sources as of September 2026. Corrections are welcome at dchub.cloud/contact.
