Pilot Fiber has agreed to buy Boldyn Networks' New York and New Jersey metro fiber business; terms were not disclosed. Separately, Pilot raised more than $330 million in new financing led by Fengate Asset Management.
## Highlights
Pilot Fiber has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Boldyn Networks' New York and New Jersey metro fiber business. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Separately, Pilot raised more than $330 million in new financing led by Fengate Asset Management. Both transactions are expected to close in the second quarter of 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
## What It Means
Pilot expects its owned network to grow to more than 1,600 route miles of fiber, connecting more than 1,200 buildings and 50 data centers in the New York metro. It is Pilot's second acquisition of 2026, after Extenet's enterprise fiber business in August. Dense metro fiber that reaches data centers is a core input to site selection in power-constrained markets.
