DC Hub Ships Authenticated RAG and Instant API Keys—Agents Now Query Live Infrastructure Without Email Friction

Six core platform enhancements enable real-time siting queries across 18,500+ facilities and internal corpus; free tier now supports durable anonymous access and depth-teased premium queries.

## Platform Release: 12 Enhancements in 7 Days

DC Hub deployed six major API and authentication improvements designed to reduce agent friction and expand query scope:

- **Authenticated RAG Retrieve (Any Corpus)**: Agents can now query not only live facility, power, and grid data but also DC Hub's internal research corpus—historical M&A, interconnection strategy, and regional constraint analysis—in a single authenticated call. No separate data pipeline; one `retrieve` endpoint.

- **Instant Durable Keys (`claim_free_key`)**: Users and agents can now claim a recoverable, session-independent API key without email registration. Key persists across queries and is auto-bound to anonymous usage tier. Enables immediate siting lookups for site-selection teams moving fast.

- **Recoverable Email Binding (`bind_email`)**: Once an agent or operator claims a free key, they can optionally bind it to an email address for receipt routing, data recovery, and consent-aware upgrade pathways. No re-registration friction.

- **Structured Content Hint (`_bind`)**: Free-tier queries now include an optional hint that suggests email binding without blocking results. Drives conversion without interruption.

- **Depth-Teased Upgrade UX**: Query results for anonymous and Developer-tier users now surface which insights require Developer+ subscription (e.g., full historical M&A comparables, constraint forecasts). Top-3 results always returned; full depth reserved for paid tiers.

- **Quantified Deprivation Preamble ('1 of N')**: Query response includes transparent label of result completeness (e.g., "showing 3 of 12 comparable deals"), reducing perceived opacity and clarifying upgrade value.

## What It Means for Site Selection and Capex Planning

Site-selection leads and capacity planners can now spin up live infrastructure queries—excess power, grid constraint, facility utilization, and M&A comparables—without registration delays. Agents embedded in decision workflows pull real-time power index data, interconnection queue status, and historical regional pricing in a single call. No separate login, no email gate. Upgrade to full depth (all comparables, all constraint forecasts, all historical M&A) remains optional and fee-based.

## New Query Endpoints

- `POST /api/retrieve` – Authenticated RAG across live data + internal corpus (facility, power, grid, deals, constraints)
- `POST /api/claim_free_key` – Generate durable anonymous key (recoverable, session-independent)
- `POST /api/bind_email` – Link key to email for receipt routing and upgrade eligibility
- `GET /api/query/{facility_id}` – Free tier includes '1 of N' label and depth-tease hint

## MCP Native

All endpoints are MCP (Model Context Protocol) native. Agents query DC Hub the same way they query any data layer—no SDK, no polling, no latency tax. Calls made in the last 24 hours: 114 tool invocations across 2 distinct agents.
