Why bother: Perplexity runs MCP server-side and starts a brand-new session on every tool call, so it can never remember a key on its own. A key carried in the URL is the only thing that survives — without it you restart anonymous, at the anonymous limit, every single time.

Where it goes in Perplexity

Settings → Connectors → Add Custom Connector

  1. Open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add Custom Connector (MCP) and name it DC Hub.
  3. Paste the URL above and enable the connector.
  4. Ask: "Rank US data-center markets by time-to-power using DC Hub."
Worth knowing. Custom MCP connectors work on Perplexity web and desktop. Custom MCP is currently blocked in Comet, Perplexity's browser — add DC Hub from the web or desktop app instead.
