Why bother: ChatGPT runs MCP server-side and starts a brand-new session on every tool call, so it can never remember a key on its own. A key carried in the URL is the only thing that survives — without it you restart anonymous, at the anonymous limit, every single time.
Where it goes in ChatGPT
Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server
On ChatGPT web, open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server. Name it DC Hub.
Paste the URL above as the server URL and choose No authentication.
Acknowledge the warning, select Create as a plugin, then install it.
In a chat, type @ and pick DC Hub. search and fetch register too, so Deep Research can browse DC Hub as a source.
Older workspaces may still show the previous path: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector (Developer Mode under Advanced).
Worth knowing. ChatGPT runs MCP server-side with a fresh session per tool call. A key the model hands back in chat is gone by its next call — put the key in the connector URL instead, which is what the box above gives you.
